Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire
Our guide will meet you at Kilimanjaro airport on your arrival followed by a 2-hour drive to Karatu where you will be starting a game drive in Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its majestic baobab trees, often known as "trees of life," which dot the landscape and add to the beauty of Tarangire's surroundings. The Tarangire River, the park's primary source of water, draws hundreds of species, especially during the dry season.
When you arrive in Tarangire, you will go on a game drive in search of the park's wildlife, which includes lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe, and zebra. You might encounter predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs if you're lucky. In the evening, you will drive to the Lodge in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Mto wa Mbu Cultural Experience/Lake Manyara
After a delicious breakfast, your experienced guide will meet you for a briefing before departing for Mto wa Mbu for cultural exploration. You will journey through several local villages, which will provide you with opportunities for learning and discovery.
When you arrive at Mto wa Mbu, you will have the opportunity to interact with residents and learn about their everyday lives. You will tour banana and rice plantations, where you will be able to see how locals undertake agricultural activities and sample local beer. Around the afternoon, you will have a local meal at one of Mto wa Mbu's restaurants, giving you the opportunity to sample African local cuisine.
After lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive at Lake Manyara National Park, which is not far from Mto wa Mbu. The park has a lot to offer in terms of stunning nature and beauty. The park is famous for its tree climbing lions, which you may be able to see if you are lucky.
Day 3: Game drive to Ngorongoro crater
After breakfast, you will depart for a wildlife drive in Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest inactive, undamaged, and unfilled volcanic crater. The crater, famous for being the home of the Big Five, is one of the world's natural wonders. After completing the check-in formalities at Loduare Gate, you will continue your journey to the crater.
As you descend to the crater rim, have your camera ready because you might capture a fantastic photo of wildlife or an incredible landscape vista at any time. Ngorongoro crater is a self-sustaining environment that is home to African elephants, buffalo, hippos, lions, and the rare remaining black rhinos. You will have lunch on the crater floor in the afternoon while observing the spectacular landforms, vegetation, and wildlife. After lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive to discover more attractions. In the evening, you will ascend and drive to Arusha. You will be escorted to the airport.
