Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! We like interaction.
When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our Safari representative and driven for approximately 1 hour to Crest Safari Lodge Arusha. Along the route, depending on the time you arrive, you will witness some of the residents going about their daily routines; if you spot anything fascinating, feel free to ask your guide to stop the vehicle. You will check into the lodge at a convenient time to relax, take a shower, and have dinner. Enjoy your overnight stay and prepare for your cultural and wildlife adventures, which will begin the next day.
Day 2: Maasai Village / Mto wa Mbu Cultural Activities
After breakfast, your Ozon Light Safari guide will meet you at the lodge for a safari briefing. You will drive for approximately 2:30 hours to Maasai Village in Mto wa Mbu to spend time with Maasai people and learn more about their way of life. Maasai will welcome you with traditional songs and dances. They will interact with you and tell you fascinating stories about their culture.
After a fantastic day with the Maasai, you will make your way to Mto wa Mbu for a local lunch, an opportunity to sample African dishes. After lunch, you will participate in Mto wa Mbu cultural activities, which allow you to learn more about the traditions of different Tanzanian tribes. You will take part in a variety of activities, including a market tour, visits to local plantations, and a banana brewery. You will get the opportunity to sample local beer and experience local flavor.
After such an amazing day you will drive to the lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 3-4: Serengeti National Park
Your two days in the Serengeti will be unforgettable.
Do you want to see large cats, the large Five, the Great Wildebeest Migration, or take a hot air balloon ride?
If so, the Serengeti is the place to be.
The day starts with a breakfast then trip to Serengeti National Park. As you go through the Ngorongoro highlands, you will witness several attractions and have the opportunity to learn about the geography of African wilderness. Your Safari guide would be delighted to offer his extensive knowledge of each attraction you visit.
You will spend two days exploring the Serengeti's "Seronera" region, which includes wildlife, plants, magnificent sunsets, vast plains, and other features. Due to the abundance of biodiversity and availability of water, the middle Serengeti attracts majority of animals. There are ungulates such as wildebeest, zebra, impala, and gazelles. Big cats and the big five are common here, and if you're lucky, you'll see a few on a game drive.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
Do you want to witness a black rhino or one of the Big Five?
Ngorongoro Crater, commonly referred to as Eden's Garden, is home to the Big Five.
The day starts with a superb breakfast at the lodge, followed by a trip to Ngorongoro Crater. When you reach the crater rim, you will begin your descent, giving you the opportunity to see amazing landscapes. Due to the abundance of water sources and biodiversity, the crater is home to a variety of plants and animals. More than 500 bird species are expected to be found.
You will begin the game drive in search of the big five, which include elephants, buffalo, rhino, leopards, and lions. Other animals that you might see include eland, hyenas, gazelles, and zebras. Around afternoon, you will have picnic lunch near the hippo pool. You will go on an afternoon game drive in quest of more wildlife and other crater sights.
After game drive you will drive to Lake Eyasi Safari lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Visit Hadzabe & Datoga Villages / Endoro Waterfall and Nature Walk
You will have the opportunity to interact with the bushmen/ Hadzabe and Datoga today.
After breakfast, you will drive to the villages of Hadzabe and Datoga. You'll encounter bushmen and go hunting with them. You will engage in a range of activities during hunting, such as honey collection, berry eating, and bushwalking. Busmen will share their hunting knowledge and teach you how to hunt. Following a delightful day with the bushmen, you will visit their neighbor Datoga, who are pastoralists and skilled farmers they make swords, jewelry, and other iron implements. They keep donkeys, cows, and goats. They will gladly share with you how they go about their daily lives.
After such an amazing adventure, you will drive to the Lodge in Karatu for a hot lunch.
You will spend an hour for relaxation, then drive to Ngorongoro Forest (endoro elephant caves and waterfall) for a nature walk.
Following a successful nature walk, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Drive Back to Arusha
Enjoy a wonderful breakfast as today is the last day of you Safari itinerary. Your guide will take you back to Arusha Town after breakfast. When you arrive in Arusha, you will enjoy lunch at a restaurant then relax for few hours. You will be transferred to the airport for your journey back home, depending on your flight schedule.
